Thorn is a nonprofit that builds technology and programs to defend children from sexual abuse.

The organization was founded in 2012 with one clear vision in mind: to build a world where every child can be safe, curious, and happy. 

Thorn’s audacious goal is to eliminate child sexual abuse material from the internet by 2029. To make this goal a reality, Thorn focuses on:

1. Accelerating law enforcement’s ability to identify victims of child sexual abuse
2. Equipping the tech industry to stop the viral spread of child sexual abuse material
3. Building resilience in youth and the communities that support and protect them

As a partner, Max Stenbeck Charitable Trust has joined the fight to turn technology into hope for the most vulnerable children. More specifically, the Trust has supported the establishment of Thorn in Europe and efforts directed toward European policy and legislation.
